Sexuality

No one knows what makes people gay, lesbian, bisexual or straight. Being gay, lesbian or bisexual is as much a part of every day life as being straight is.

You don’t choose your sexuality it chooses you. Almost everyone, at some point in their lives, will feel attracted to someone of their own sex, particularly when they are young. Remember, finding out what your sexual preferences are can take a while.

There’s no need to rush into anything, so take your time and remember that before you come out to the rest of the world you need to come out to yourself.

If you’re still confused and would like to speak to an adviser about the possibility of you being gay, you can contact Sexwise for more information.

There are many organisations out there that will give you all the initial advice and support you need to come out in confidence. Some that you may find helpful are:

     - T: 0116 254 1747.
